This privacy policy describes how N8 Orifice Meter Gas Calculation (“the App”) handles your data. The App is a Windows desktop application for AGA 3 orifice fiscal gas metering calculations, published by na8awi (“we”, “us”).
1. Data we collect
The App collects a minimal set of information required to operate the license system:
- Machine identifier — a one-way hash of your Windows device’s
MachineGuid, formatted as XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. This is used to bind your license to your device. The raw Windows GUID never leaves your device.
- Registration details you type into the registration form: your name, email address, company name (optional), and phone/WhatsApp number (optional).
- App version at the moment of license verification.
We do not collect: browsing history, calculation inputs, uploaded flow-computer reports, gas composition data, meter configurations, or any measurement values entered into the App. Those stay on your device.
2. How your data is used
- To issue and verify your license (trial or paid).
- To contact you if we need to notify you about your license or a critical app update.
- To keep an audit trail of active licenses so we can prevent abuse of the free trial.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing.
3. Where your data is stored
- License records are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database (Asia-Pacific region) accessed only by the license verification server operated by na8awi.
- Your input data (calculations, uploaded reports, meter setup) stays on your device in the App’s local storage.
4. AI extraction feature (optional)
The App includes an optional AI-assisted extraction feature. Only if you enable it and provide your own API key:
- The flow-computer report you upload (PDF or image) is sent to the AI provider you configured — typically Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude — via their public APIs.
- The API key you paste is stored only in your device’s local storage. It is never sent to us.
- The AI provider processes the report per their own privacy policy. We do not receive, store, or see the report or the extraction result.
The AI feature is opt-in. If you do not paste an API key, no report ever leaves your device.
5. Your rights
You may at any time:
- Request a copy of the license record we hold for your machine.
- Ask us to delete your license record.
- Withdraw your license (uninstall the App and stop using it).

6. Data retention
- Active licenses: retained until you request deletion or the license is revoked for cause.
- Expired trial licenses: retained for 12 months after expiry, then deleted.
- Revoked licenses: retained for audit purposes for 24 months, then deleted.
7. Children
The App is a professional engineering tool. It is not intended for and is not marketed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated in-app on next launch after the update.
